Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actor director, musician, and actor. She has directed a number of episodes of TV and film, including Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Milena was the Co-EP/Producing Director of Dick Wolf's CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently attached for two pilots. Milena was one of the eight women chosen by AFI for their most prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Her short film and TV series proof of concept called Unspeakable featuring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, featured its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded Best Episodic at Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) has been screened across the United States. It won the title of Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared in over 100 television series. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), a Dick Wolf series, was her second main role. It culminated in her being the Emmy-winning female detective in Law & Order (1990). The actress has appeared on in a number of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and also on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena also appeared in a number of films, including Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also appeared in a movie with Method Man. Milena is from Norman, Oklahoma native. When she was valedictorian at her high school and then going further to get an undergraduate degree in both vocal performance and premed with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. In the following years, Milena utilised her classical ballet skills to take part on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
