Rachel Emily Nichols is the daughter Alison and James Nichols. She has English, French Canadian, German, Irish, Italian and Scottish ancestral roots. Cony High School was her high school in Augusta. She graduated there with a math diploma and a competitive high jump. She attended Columbia University in New York City and eventually graduated with a double major in economics and math. When she began modeling, she launched a successful career working for high-profile companies like Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch and L'Oreal. Rachel was able to move into acting after securing a role on the HBO situation comedy Sex and the City (1998) after her first audition. She made her film debut as Jessica Matthews in the prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry met Lloyd (2003). Her success continued with roles in projects such as The Amityville Horror (2004), The Inside (2006), Alias (2002), and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), Criminal Minds (2005) (a recurring part in the role of FBI Agent Ashley Seaver) and Conan the Barbarian (2011).
